Yes they also canceled The Carrie Diaries, The Tomorrow People and Star Crossed. They renewed The 100, Beauty and the Beast, Arrow, Hart of Dixie, SPN, Vampire Diaries, I may be missing some.
Some of their new shows for fall sound weird: Jane The Virgin and something else involving zombies. An Arrow spinoff featuring The Flash is planned.

Yeah I read they cancelled the spin off. With TV Guide asking for opinions from Supernatural fans on Facebook and planning to use opinions in an article about the spin off, I think the CW got the message that the fans hated it before it got out of the gate. Maybe now writers will rethink the spin off idea and actually use a character like Garth or or Sheriff Mills in a new spin off. I also hope they got the message to not waste an episode of our boys for any further spin off jump starts. It's bad enough to only get just so many episodes every season to tell our boys story but when they waste that time with a jump start for a spin off or filler episodes I think we fans get a little upset. By they way, Cleveland doesn't have a Humbolt Hotel. I was upset that this last episode had the boys in "Cleveland" but they didn't actually use Cleveland. There was nothing to indicate it was Cleveland, no iconic buildings or anything other then the little location title on the bottom and like I said, there isn't a hotel with that name in Cleveland.

They did the same thing with No Exit: none of the exteriors even remotely looked like Philadelphia. I know most of the world thinks we're the hillbilly, wannabe cousin of NY but we're not rural and we're not a factory town. The architecture didn't even look the same. We have big building and bustling Center City and traffic (minus of of the pointless honking that NYers seem to do ALL DAY LONG).
I only saw fan reaction from the point of tumblr which, on the night Bloodlines aired, was pretty unanimous of how awful it was. Varying reasons, but there were very few dissenters; today people have crawled out of the woodwork to say it was so good and should've been picked up. I disagree but I wouldn't have watched it even it it had been. The only thing that makes me sad about this is the thought that they've now blown their chance at having a spinoff...and maybe even a movie...if the powers that be decide that our show has limited appeal and nothing more to offer outside of the Winchester boys. I think they did it wrong but you usually get one bite of the apple. Gone are the days where several shows can spin off from one (All In the Family/The Jeffersons/Maude) and even then the shows had to be successful. If your spinoff bombs out of the gate, I don't think anyone will let you try again.

They didn't tie in the spinoff with SPN at all though, no familiar characters or situations, all new people. They also stole too many ideas and dialogue from SPN. Successful spinoffs use known characters like Frasier and the ones you mentioned.
The plot reminded me of a one year series from the 1990s, Kindred: The Embraced, which had feuding vampire groups/families in San Francisco. Kelly Rutherford was in it. That was good and original at the time but didn't make it either.
A successful spinoff would have left open the opportunity that when SPN ends, the boys and others could guest star.
They often don't put any quick and easy research (hello internet) into the cities and towns they set episodes in, typical if you aren't in NYC or LA and Chicago you're just a hillbilly in flyover land.

like doing something with Cas even if they did one with the roadhouse crew that would have been cool. Honestly im over Vampires and most monsters all these teen movies are making it trendy and annoying.
I was watching Glee the other day and they cracked a joke at the CW and all of its gorgeous people.

I've seen pictures of Philly from when my boys went on a school tour there at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. Also from the show Parking Wars. I would like to see that stuff myself but after seeing how hard it is to find parking in Philly, I'm not sure I'd want to go unless I could fly in and take a cab to a hotel. I think it might be worse than downtown Chicago that Mic showed me and downtown Cleveland. But with Cleveland constantly shutting down roads due to movie filming now, I'm not so sure. A couple of weeks ago my hubby had fun with trying to get out of work since he works noon to 8 because Playhouse Square which has all of our theaters that conducted plays and whatnot was redesigning it spaces, and they decided to hang a chandelier over Euclid avenue, (the road that runs in front of the theaters) so they closed down a bunch of roads because they were going to have a big "turn on the chandelier" ceremony, plus the Indians which play practically next door to where my hubby works was having a game and the adjacent arena was having a Cher concert.

I totally agree with everybody on the spinoff. It wasn't a good representation of Supernatural either. That's not what our show is about...Bloodlines was way off the mark for me as far as it being a SPN spinoff. Anyone get to see tonight's epi? Stairway to HeavenSpoilers........ *STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN* A lot of angel killing again in this epi. Tessa the reaper made her appearance as an angel killer. Tessa returns and leads a conspiracy against Castielβs angel followers. Dean is eager to use the First Blade when the angels are attacked. Now Sam is worried about Dean's behavior the more he has the Blade. Castiel is shocked when he learns the angel that caused the attack was one of his followers and did it in his name. Dean discovers there is a conspiracy amongst Castielβs angel followers and at the heart of it is Tessa, the Reaper. It didn't end well for her at all. I'm wondering how far Metatron is gonna go to sabotage Castiel...

From what I saw, all of a sudden Tessa was an angel, perhaps reapers were always a form of angel, as in the angel of death? If so, I must have missed something along the way LOL.
I wonder if Metatron will go down tonight, the big bad usually does in the finale. From the little I've seen, something very different and big is supposed to happen at the end. Hang on to your seats!

Yeah I'm not happy with these episodes where the writer obviously isn't familiar with the history of the show...and nobody that is corrects them! I was wondering about that reaper/angel thing too. Canon always made it seem like reapers were separate from angels...if they are some form, it should've been clarified...I think many fans had questions/issues about that.
ok so about last night....
DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES ep923
Even though Dean continues to feel the effects of the First Blade, he strategizes a plan with Castiel and Sam to take down Metatron once and for all.
I haven't watched it yet...I'll probably do it this morning. I already know how it ends (spoilers don't scare me)...I'm intrigued and appreciate the callback (almost never happens anymore) but I go into these last couple of seasons cringing with every episode because they are so blah. I WANT them to be good but even good idea seem to fail in execution. So we'll see about this...I'll check in once I've seen what's what.
