I must agree ladies. I was thinking about how they sort of betrayed canon to accommodate giving the show a more CW feel to fit in with its other shows...I guess it'd be too intense for shifters to slough off skin in the gross way they do...no more pretty twenty-somethings doing pretty things.
It does have some similarities to Supernatural as far as origins but I'm not sure that was a good idea, and it certainly wasn't enough to save the episode. I find myself deciding to do what some fans have said they'd do--pretend it never happened. I mean seriously, the boys were almost not in it, nobody else was either, nothing in the myth of OUR show transpired...we can really extract this from the show.

And why did the writers have to have yet another newbie hunter "get started" hunting with the death of his almost fiance. With Mom Winchester being killed this way, Sam's girlfriend being killed this way, Bobby's wife killed this way and Rufus's wife killed this way, haven't we done this method to death? Couldn't it have been his sister or a good friend who was killed by a "monster"? The only "twist" was that the monster doing the girlfriend killing was actually a human, but then isn't the definition of a monster, in reality, someone who kills another for no basic reason?

*Ducks from flying pies* I knew I was gonna get crap for this one. Lol. I have to admit you guys made valid points about the epi. @rnfrancis, I didn't even think about the epi in the way you did....you are absolutely right about the previous vamp and shape shifter...it doesn't make sense. I think I was removed from that as soon as I saw the beginning "Chicago, IL"...they lost me. Lol.

I admit I enjoyed seeing Philadelphia as a location...even though it was about a serial killer, lol...we get ignored because we share a timezone with NY which people seem to think of as the center of the universe, so I get happy anytime we get noticed (for the good stuff).
If you liked it don't let us sway you, I just couldn't dig it. I don't think I would've liked it even if it had no relation to Supernatural...it just wasn't my thing. It just made things worse for me that it's now associated with our show.

**KING OF THE DAMNED** Any thoughts? SPOILERS.... Bye bye Abbadon! Finally the bitch is dead. Lol. The only worry I have now is...what's going on with Dean and the First Blade? What is the Blade doing to him? That is unsettling... Weird twist Abbadon threw in with Crowley's son from 1723. I'm guessing that's probably not the last we'll see his son. Idk... *Btw, I'm so tired of the local network channel changing the times of Supernatural. This week it was a Cubs game on when SPN should have been on. So the time of the game ending is estimated...my DVR records that set time no matter if the times are off. So it's a good thing I was paying attention...it ran 40mins over the estimated time. I had to manually record the last 40mins of SPN. I've missed new epi's in the past because of this. Stupid sports...don't they know SPN was a new epi??? lol. Grr

Perhaps Bloodlines will be better whhen they don't try to fit our boys into it. Fans seem split, some liked it some did not. Most were annoyed by lack of Winchesters and also in vamp epi. They took too many SPN themes and even dialogue, it needed more originality. I saw on Twitter supposedly shifters have changed like this before on SPN, they have messed a lot with canon in the last several seasons. I also saw on Twitter that some writers have not watched Seasons 1-3! I hope that is not true. I think the fans care more than them about continuity. I would think J2 would give imput, I wish!
A spin off of young John and Mary was a suggestion I saw, I thought maybe Henry Winchester and the MOL people, could be lots of stories there. Even a Charlie in OZ was an idea. The western theme could be good with Samuel Colt or if they wanted Chicago they could have done Elliot Ness, I liked him and that older woman. I think the CW is trying to appeal to the Gossip Girl types most of the time. I do like Reign and The 100 has potential.
Michele I hope Bloodlines works out, I will not throw a pie yet. A plus about a successful spinoff would be the guys could guest star if SPN ever ends.

Entertainment Weekly states that the CW cancelled the SPN spin off. CW cancels 3 shows plus 'Supernatural' spinoff
