SPOILERS below!
I liked the new angel, not sure if he is going to be seen again, if so, I hope he changes his clothes LOL. Just jeans and a t-shirt please.
I'm thinking Dean doesn't know for sure Cas is dead; I think Cas has nine lives like a cat LOL. If Cas and Benny had beards in purgatory why didn't Dean LOL.
I think the Winchesters need to make an appearance in the next Avengers movie. Sam could hang out with Thor, Dean could flirt with Pepper, be snarky with Tony and fanboy over Captain America. Make it so!

I think Dean left Cas for dead. Or Cas went bad & he hoped something killed him. BUT
SPOILER
I've only heard about Cas appearing this season via flashback so maybe he really is dead.
So far, the eps are fine. Definitely starting to feel like the emotional ground is being retread....again; not loving that so much. Sam wanting the girl and the life & school and fighting with Dean about that just seems like it's trying really hard to go back to the past....that's not the part of the past I was hoping would be revisited.
But we'll see.

I know it's early in the season but what opinions are we having so far? Unfortunately, I'm finding myself kind of bored "Blood Brother" was blah & "Bitten" was awful, IMO. I know these eps are being done to give the boys some rest but "Bitten" isn't the way to do it; I don't care what happens to characters unrelated to the boys, I still haven't watched all of it. "Blood Brother", I guess I don't care about Benny. Once again the fandom has embraced a character for reasons beyond my understanding. Not to say they can't or shouldn't, I just don't get why: Benny hasn't proven to be very special or funny or interesting. I don't get it. And Sam's flashbacks are boring me...this girl is totally unlikeable. I never had problems with any of the boys' girls in the past, this one I don't like. She acted like Sam hit the dog on purpose, and in this ep she called him a creeper but she never threw him out...if you were really worried, you call someone or run out to safety. You don't stand there telling someone you think they're crazy and dangerous. She's coming off as unnecessarily bitchy. By now I usually have a few eps on DVR to rewatch, I've deleted every ep so far after watching...I don't want to see any of them again. I'm not disliking the season theme as much as I hated leviathans, but this is kind of boring me with the boys having the same fights, again. This is going to be hard to watch if it goes to 10 seasons like this.

While I like this season more than Sera's, I have to agree it's a little lackluster. I don't like Sam's flashbacks. And Dean's are a little too short and schizophrenic. But Jeremy had a tall order on his hands to fix Sera's huge mistakes.

Dian I agree about Amelia treating Sam badly when he first brought the dog in. If Sam was a creep he would have hit the dog and kept on going. Every time someone hits an animal they don't have to keep it LOL. Maybe they aren't in the position to keep an animal or maybe the dog already belongs to someone. Sheesh! Also, she was calling Sam kind of creepy yet she was sitting calmly and casually, she didn't fear him at all and didn't look uncomfortable with his presence.
I'm okay with Benny not sure about Amelia. I think they embrace Benny cuz he is on Twitter LOL. Fans tend to embrace the actors on social media faster IMHO. It also helps that he isn't a woman.
I am okay otherwise with most of the season though I didn't like Bitten, not enough Winchesters. I am not a fan of that jittery home video style and making your own videos like they did as I have never done any. I am the wrong generation I guess.
I agree RF Dean's flashbacks are way too short, I hope we get more soon.

When me and my friends filmed stuff it was usually scripted we had rigs and tripods they really dont portray people by age well on any tv show.also who reads lord of the fly's in Uni that's required reading for high school. I thought bitten was a decent idea and I think there trying to get back to monster of the week stuff. its ok but not really anything I would watch twice.
Dog is cute I always love Aussies so much character in thoes dogs.
Amelia is a little to like the girls you see when rpging a little mary sue
Benny is alright so far

Hi Ash. We didn't have all that fancy recording stuff in the olden days, sounds cool! I love the dog too, very cute and sweet. I hope he survives Supernatural!

I expect the recording on the run looking a bit shaky. It was headachy in some parts but I don't have a general problem with it.
My issue was this being so far removed from the boys. If they aren't going to be in the episode very much then the characters need to be people that I have a relationship with as an audience member otherwise, why do I care about them? If it were a story focused on Garth or Charlie (is that her name?), etc...even though I'm not gaga about those characters, at least I have some background to care about them and they have a more direct attachment to the boys. These people were strangers so I shrugged. It was like watching a different show...a different, boring show. They were annoying, like the kids in the horror movies that you look forward to Jason, etc, hacking into pieces. I don't mind MotW or even seeing things from the monster's POV, but there's got to be something I can invest in and there wasn't. But again, I've still yet to see the last 20mins. I think the shapeshifter eps did a fine job of getting inside the heads of the monsters. If the boys are tired and find themselves needing to find ways to be in episodes less, Bitten was not the way, IMO. Maybe they should start the season later, like other shows do, so they have some real time off (a lot of their time off, they do conventions) or have fewer episodes. I'd rather have that than another episode like Bitten.
Blood Brother was just boring and I'm not going to blame that on previous seasons. If you do that, then you have to blame the fact people didn't like Sera's season on the seasons before that. As much as I disliked leviathans, this seasons blah cannot be blamed on that. They're barely dealing with them or purgatory (so far) so there's very little attachment to anything before it. Except that they are yet again rehashing the same fights the boys had before and that goes back to season one. I think Carver took it a little too literally that fans wanted things back the way they used to be.
Amelia is truly unlikeable. And it seems like she's trying to be, which is even more annoying. I don't know how she finally wins Sam over but I can't imagine how or why it happened with her being that big a B to him.
