It's great that we have an area to talk & vent. I decided it'd also be great to have an area where talk is again encouraged, BUT all of the talk is positive.
Whether about things/people affiliated with the show or things in our personal lives, I want this to be a place where we can share positive experiences and thoughts.
So if something good has happened to you, if you did something positive, if you had a really good meal, heard a really corny joke that made you smile, you got a good night's sleep, your pet did something cute, or the weather is great where you are or you want to share a positive 'thought-of-the-day'...ANYTHING that made you feel good...please feel free to share!
I'll start:
-we got a couple new members to the board recently, I hope they join in the fray soon -I found out I had 5 days of vacation so I put in for them and they were approved in less than 24hrs time -The weather was awesome yesterday -- I slept without the fan or a/c and it was one of the best night's sleep I had in a while! -I got to have a hot cup of tea this morning because of a comfortable chill that was in the house -I've got a short work day today and then I'm off for the weekend
I hope everybody decides to participate; I think we could all use some positive vibes...maybe it'll be contagious!

Yesterday was an awesome weather day! It was cool all day with a nice breezes into the night where no artificial air was required.
I'm off today and tomorrow...I managed to have a full week but only doing 3 days.

What a great idea for a thread Dian! Sometimes we can go off on subjects here that aren't necessarily cheery. The funny thing though...I found myself having to really think about something good that happened today. LOL! Ok...I think I have something. Lol. *The hubby left for work early this morning and I got to sleep in today. It was mostly uninterrupted sleep (with the exception of my phone going off a couple times this morning). It was so nice to sleep without an alarm clock going off. Ahh...love days like that. I'll do my best to post here every day. I'm sure something good has to happen at least one time during the course of a day.

No worries, I find myself having to do the same but there's something beneficial in looking towards a bright side...even if you have to look hard. There may not be something every day but whenever it is we have that moment, I felt there should be a place to express it where it can stand out.
Funny because sleep is on my list today too! I'm off again today and I feel like I could take a nap, then I realized that I can! A good sleep can make all the difference in a mood.

Hello!!! Trying to think of a happy moment today...lol. Ummmmm....Well I think I'm gonna have to go with... *I tried making something for dinner that I've never tried before. I'm not the best in the kitchen so this is always like a crap shoot for me. Haha. )Well to my surprise it came out pretty darn good. I made sauteed zucchini with onions, spices, and garlic. ( rbnfrancis, I used some of that seasoning that you sent me. ) It came out delicious. I was happy...that's an accomplishment for me in the kitchen. Lol dianthusmoon, I hope you enjoyed your nap!

It's always so hard for me to resist when the DVDs are released but I continue to do so in hopes for getting a boxed set when the series is over. So are you going to get them casfan? Do they come with some little cool extra? I heard previous seasons (depending on where you bought them) came with a little Impala, etc. Congrats on the dinner, michlp! So what are you going to try next? Have you found that you're better with a certain kind of dish? Well let's see... yesterday was a short day for me at work so I went shopping afterwards. I don't consider shopping a happy thought LOL but the fact that I came back without being loaded down with stuff is. Usually, I go shopping and I say I'm not going to get much (because there's walking and buses involved in the process) but wind up with 2 oversized bags, loaded down with stuff. I had 2 little bags...both light...and that was it. For 3 weeks now I seem to be getting the same schedule which gives me the max about of hours I can be assigned (I can still pick up more) but leaves me 4 days off in the week (again, if I don't volunteer for more). I got a catalog the other day that I thought had taken me off their mailing list because I hadn't bought anything from them in a couple of years. I LOVE their stuff and though it's more expensive than I might like, the stuff is good quality...better even than the stuff sold at work; fabrics are thick (the ones that are supposed to be) and have nice weight, stitching is tight & uniform, it doesn't pill or tear easily AND sizes for us bigger girls are the same price as for everyone else...and there's lots to choose from. So I'm going to treat myself to a piece here and there. Speaking of shopping, ever head of the online 10 dollar mall? I was just introduced to it and though I haven't bought anything yet, they have lots of stuff -- for all sizes -- and it's all under $10! I'm going to stock up there to get some pieces that are otherwise crazy-expensive...like leggings and maxi dresses. Day off today so everything is going to be low key. OOH, apps! Have I mentioned my love of apps? I watch so much tv on them now! I'm going to watch some Supernatural on TNT this morning but I also got HBO, Showtime, MAX, Starz & Encore apps...you get to see so much right from your device...there are even movies available that aren't available on your tv channels. So between today's naps I think I'll be taking advantage of that. Good vibes everyone! Thanks for participating!

Dian, you are stronger than me waiting for the DVD box set! Yes I am going to Walmart after work today to get S8 and other necessities LOL. Last year and this they donβt have any extras, I know I got the Impala key chain, an exclusive DVD, and a t-shirt in previous years. It doesnβt seem that DVD TV series sets are coming with extras anymore, maybe some do, but I am not sure.
Thanks for the tip on the $10 Mall, I will have to check that out. I know what you mean about thicker material etc; clothes these days seem to be made of so thin and clingy materials and not always made very well.
I need to explore more about Apps for watching TV and movies on my tablet.
Finally this site works again at work but I donβt need it as much now LOL. The mysteries of our computer system, they have been changing and adding softwares lately.
A decent day at work, will get to leave on time today!!!

I'm doing something fun with my family on Sunday. My mom, sis, and I are going to a spa for the afternoon....girls day. Lol. This is a change of pace for us. My nieces are gonna get manicures too. Haha...too cute. I'm excited. I'm exhausted so it will be so nice to relax at the spa...I'm looking forward to that. casfan, the weather has cooled off here too. It's so nice right now...I think we're gonna go back up in temps soon. I'm enjoying this weather though. dianthusmoon, Thanks! I don't know what I'm gonna attempt to cook next. Lol. Baby steps. Thanks for the heads up on the $10 site. I'm gonna check that out too. I hope you enjoyed your nap!

I got my mom started with the app, she's a fan of Homeland and says that even though she has the dvr set from season one, it never recorded season 2. She has a Kindle Fire so we trolled the app store and it had the Showtime app so we got her set up so she could watch s2 on that and get caught up before s3. You have to subscribe to the channel via your satellite provider but once you link accounts, you can watch anything available on the channel...and I think there's some content specifically for the app. I've got all of the movie channels plus TBS, TNT, CW, ABC, CBS...any channel that airs shows I like and lets you watch them online. TBS & TNT have a 'watch live' feature so you can watch whatever is on their station at that moment -- east and west coast feeds -- in addition to watching the archived stuff. Oooooooh, a girls' day out, michele...sounds kinda awesome. I've never ever done one of those Actually I would just love a solo spa day but a girl's day out sounds nice. Are you having lunch too? Try over roasting some veggies...that is pretty easy. Get some potatoes, broccoli, red onion or shallot (if you like them), bell peppers (I usually try to get red, orange and yellow to add color)...coat with a bit of olive oil, garlic powder, salt, basil and put in the over until they get tender and brown a bit...I love it. Veg dishes might be the easiest to work with while you get your feet wet with cooking more often. There's nothing like actually being able to leave work on time, casfan. Apparently we were told (I wasn't there for this meeting) that the company paid too much in overtime last quarter or something because people were staying beyond their shifts. They don't have to worry about me, I want to leave at my scheduled time lol The weather was so deliciously fall yesterday! I even pulled out a lightweight blanket last night. I refuse to close the window...I'm sitting in my room with my fluffy winter robe on and sipping some hot tea (Raspberry Zinger ) I have to go shopping today (& hopefully get back before the game starts) and I'm not even hating it like I normally do. Yesterday was actually a decent day at work, even though it was relatively long for me. I'm not sure why but I was more 'up'. I still got annoying customers and was run ragged, but IDK...I felt different. I didn't really do anything different. I was going to chalk it up to the caffeine but I do the energy shot on other days and it doesn't make me less annoyed lol. On the nicer days (read: not stupidly hot) that I have a break/lunch, I'm sitting outside. I think being in a building with no windows...especially if you're there for crazy long hours...messes with your head. casfan, michlp...are you inside all day? I think we may miss too many hours of sun & sun has vitamins and stuff that's good for you and it does do something for mood. I think we need to make an effort to go outside or at least SEE outside at some point during a long day. I got to sleep in late today. At first it didn't look like I was going to fall asleep last night because of the caffeine (& I don't have any sleep meds here) so I resorted to my sleep sounds app and after a bit, it worked. And because it was so pleasantly chilly, I slept good and didn't wake until 9a. I'm learning to shop the clearance racks. I cannot explain how much that skeeved me. I really got physically creeped out by having to dig through stuff and thrift shopping (which seems to be big now) :vigorously shakes head: I would stand outside while others went in. I don't mind old jewelry and wood furniture but if I had to walk through clothes or old fabric to get to it, it wasn't gonna happen. I never had the patience to sort through stores like Marshall's and Ross so I always wondered how people found decent stuff there. I could do Burlington Coat Factory but then that got sloppy so I stopped going there...I can only go if the racks look neat. Anyway, I've been making myself shop the clearance racks at work and actually found a few cheap pieces. I don't use the store charge so I don't get an employee discount so I have to count on coupons and big reductions on markdowns. The clearance stuff is so mixed up and all over the place but I forged through and made myself search and have been coming out with some good deals...like $5 blouses. A coworker also told me about Rainbow shops. I was aware of them but there's not one near me and I hadn't shopped there since I put on weight so I didn't know about their plus sizes. But she had on a really cute, colorful top (thankfully not floral...I'm not into that trend) and she said she got it from them. I looked for them online and they do have cute stuff, for all sizes...not bad prices, so they might be worth keeping track of. I have to replenish my wardrobe, especially for winter, so you might see me sharing a lot of shopping stuff for a while as I find decent deals on stuff I like. It's almost 11. I'm probably pushing it as far as shopping and getting back before the game. I've got some stuff here for dinner and I'm off early tomorrow so maybe I'll hold off until then and go after work. I don't feel like rushing but I don't want to miss the game. Maybe I'll lounge. I wish I could watch the game live on my ipod from bed lol.
