I'm net-having again. After a really helpful rep talked with me and gave me exact numbers, I relented and got FiOS. I talked to him yesterday and was able to get a morning appointment for today--when i was already off. So I didn't have to miss work. They kept the appointment time and were done pretty much in a little over an hour. The tech was out today and for us, things went smooth; he did have to come back to move the modem but even that was pretty quick and easy. And he was also nice and informative. Once all set up, I contacted the eBay seller I bought a replacement DSL modem from to tell him I needed to return it and he told me to keep it AND refunded my money. So this has been a pretty good day. dianthusmoon, You really did get lucky getting a "nice and informative" tech...and efficient?! Sounds like a very good day. Lol. Let's see if I have the same luck with my cable provider. Ha...they sent a letter stating that they were upgrading the HD boxes and mine was going to need to be replaced. So I order the new box and op for the self installation. Installation seems simple enough...I follow the instructions and the HD doesn't work on the new box. Oddly enough the HD is working on the old box. What now?! I have to call for a tech to come out now...ugh. I'm hoping I don't get charged for the service call too. *fingers crossed that I get a knowledgeable tech* lol.

I hope you have good luck too michlp. It's so rare to get both. I'm not an overly effusive person but I like pleasantness along with efficiency. I'm so surprised I got both, twice. It made this less annoying though the signal keeps going up and down. Not really low as before he moved it but still it's not what I'm used to since with dsl when it was in the strength was ALWAYS excellent. I should be dressing for work, I may check in after work. Bbl

I haven't been to this happy place in a long time. I definitely have happy news to report. Our weather for the Chicagoland area has been in the upper 60s in March. That is unheard of for this area. We are thrilled to see winter leave earlier than expected...we're hoping that it does not return. We've been known to have snow in April, so we're not completely in the clear yet. It's such a great feeling to be able to open windows, not having to wear coats, and actually just enjoy the outside weather for March. I definitely don't miss winter weather at all at this point. We have had a very mild winter and it is very appreciated around here. LOL. I hope everyone else is having a similar experience for the end of this season. Before we know it we will be officially spring!

Hi Michele, weather can really make or break your mood. In late Feb and now March we've had mostly warm weather even into the 60s and 70! Then it goes back to cold for a few days then warm. Its crazy. Today we have a little snow but a lot of snow further south; I'm glad most of it is missing the Twin Cities. When its an El Nino year, it means less snow and warmer weather for MN. Its bad for those who like winter sports or are in a winter business like snow plowing but I love it!

From the upper 60's to now 30's with a snow/ice/rain storm. Unbelievable this winter season....very mild so far. That's what we should be thankful for.

Wednesday my area had an inch to two of wet snow, not sure, but just a couple miles south they had 10 inches! Weird, wild stuff LOL.
I hope that is the last storm for us and you further east.

I hope you're right casfan! I hope we've seen the last of winter weather. We were back up into the 60's again the last couple of days. Craziness!

Officially on vacation! I've got a bit over a week off where I don't have to think about that place and my body gets to rest and hopefully enjoy my city (since I'm not going out of town) and some good weather.
